Tow truck: Tow trucks are designed to tow inoperable or illegaly parked cars and trucks. The towing and recovery industry uses flat bed tow trucks that use a winch to pull a vehicle on a flat bed, a tow truck with a boom used for removing vehicles from a ditch, an older style "hook and chain" tow truck that uses a harness to hold and tow by axle, an updated and more common version called a wheel-lift tow truck and the self-loader tow truck (also called a 'snatcher' or 'repo' tow truck) that uses an integrated lift for quick and easy towing capabilities. Ford tow trucks, international tow trucks and peterbilt tow trucks are highly recognized manufacturers.
