Find Logging For Sale

Logging trucks are trucks used to haul cut trees and logs from the trees. While many think they are one type of truck, there are two. One is for the rough trails and uneven ground. This type makes it easy to go deep into logging areas for easier removal. The other is for highway and regular roadways. These are for transporting logs from the company to a buyer. Sawmills and other milling facilities are those that buy the logs the most.

Logging occurs in hilly areas where farming is unsuitable. The truck for uneven ground is important because the slopes and grades tend to be steep in many areas. Many of these trucks will have up to nine axles to provide good traction.

When looking for the right logging truck, be mindful of laws about the weight of the vehicle allowed. Each jurisdiction sets their own and many of them vary. The southern states have laws that the vehicle can only weigh 80,000 to 88,000 lbs. The northeast has higher because many of the locations have a steeper grade.

Some companies that manufacture logging trucks are; Peterbilt, Volvo, Kenworth, and Hayes Trucks.
