A sling truck is the old version of a Wrecker Tow Truck. It is characterized by the two big straps (the sling) that can be seen hanging down from the back of the tow truck. The straps are rubber and attach to the vehicle’s axle or frame.
While the sling truck is a better version of the hook and chain, it is for towing damaged vehicles. The slings do tend to damage the bumpers. If the vehicle is missing a tire from the front or rear, you can use this type of tow truck as well. The sling truck cannot tow an all-wheel drive as it will damage the drivetrain.
The sling truck has a standard cab and runs on diesel. Extended cab is not available and there are no other options for fuel.
