    Find Street Cleaner For Sale

A street cleaner is a truck used to clean streets, usually characterized by large brushes and vacuums underneath. They’re like a vacuum for the streets and are most often used in urban areas to clear away trash. Street cleaners are also often referred to as street sweepers. They’re typically powered by diesel engines. These machines can clear away incredibly small pieces of debris, making them very effective and efficient at their intended job. In addition to clearing streets, they can be used on airport runways and parking lots. They’re versatile machines, able to perform on any paved surface.

Because it continues to be such an efficient method, the majority of street sweepers use mechanic brooms as the mechanism for clearing the streets. They push the debris from the street into a hopper for collection. Centrifugal separation works to remove some smaller particles from the air and pulling them into the hopper. In addition to brushes, there are cleaners that have water tanks and sprayers to improve the job by helping to loosen any hard to remove pieces and washing away dust.

Another type of sweeper is the regenerative air street cleaner. A sweeping head is used that circulates forced air rapidly inside, along with negative pressure suction, to pull particles and debris into the hopper. While these cleaners can be quite effective, they’re also incredibly noisy due to the additional engine that powers the vacuum pump. This limits their use in many crowded or residential areas. When properly maintained, street sweepers can be very effective.
