    Find Tanker Truck For Sale

A tanker truck is a truck used to haul liquids such as gasoline or chemicals. You may also hear this truck referred to as a tank truck, fuel truck, or gas truck. There are various types of tanker trucks designed to carry different liquids. Variations depend upon the intended purpose. Some must comply with governmental food regulations. Others need to be able to resist acid erosion or maintain a certain pressurization. Some tank trucks are refrigerated. It’s important to understand your needs and the features required by those specifications when shopping for tanker trucks.

These trucks are typically quite large in size, ranging from 5,500 to 11,600 gallons. They usually have tanks that are cylindrical in shape and are placed horizontally on the vehicle.

Other variations include pressurized, non-pressurized, insulated or non-insulated. Some are meant to carry single loads, while other kinds can carry multiple loads. One way in which they carry more than one load is to have separate compartments within the tank. This is common when hauling different types of gasoline.

A tanker truck will be made of a few different types of materials, depending on what it’s hauling. Common materials used to fabricate tank trucks include aluminum, fiberglass reinforced plastic, stainless steel, and carbon steel.

There are some small sized tanker trucks. They usually have a volume of 3,000 gallons or less. They’re used for shorter distances such as local routes within a community. Examples include trucks that empty septic tanks for delivery to treatment sites and ones that carry fuel to households or businesses.
