What to Expect at Work Truck Week 2025: Events, Insights, and Innovations

Every year, the commercial truck industry gathers together for the highly anticipated Work Truck Week. For those unfamiliar, Work Truck Week runs March 4 – 7, 2025, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. While it has a tradeshow component, the event is much more. Focused on industry education and collaboration, it encompasses Green Truck Summit, The Work Truck Show, NTEA Annual Meeting, Ride & Drive, educational programs and more.

Green Truck Summit (March 4)

Held annually as part of Work Truck Week, Green Truck Summit (GTS) is a full-day immersion into advanced technology for commercial vehicles. This year, Jennifer Brace, chief futurist at Ford Motor Company, will serve as the Green Truck Summit keynote speaker on March 4. New for 2025, GTS Breakout Session Tracks highlight how technology can improve vehicle productivity and efficiency in internal combustion engines and advanced fuel applications.

The Work Truck Show (March 5 – 7)

The educational program provides insights and strategies to help companies plan for the future and enhance operational growth. Attendees can learn more regarding market data and industry trends, vehicle engineering and compliance, government regulations, workforce development, fleet management, vehicle propulsion and sustainability solutions, and more. Additionally, the exhibit hall will include commercial vehicles, equipment and products from 500 industry companies with many exhibitors revealing or launching new offerings onsite.

NTEA Annual Meeting / Commercial Vehicle Data Exchange & Reception

The NTEA Annual Meeting is a special event where association members and commercial vehicle industry professionals are updated on NTEA programs and initiatives. This year, the event takes place on Thursday, March 6, and will include Mike Krzyzewski (Coach K), one of the most accomplished basketball coaches in history, as the keynote speaker. Later that day, there will be a special session new to this year’s program – the Commercial Vehicle Data Exchange & Reception.

The Commercial Vehicle Data Exchange is designed for industry professionals looking for new data sources, interested in leveraging their company’s own data and/or collaborating with others who want to move the industry forward. The four-hour event kicks off with a review of the current state of data availability and use in the commercial vehicle industry led by Andrew Wrobel, NTEA commercial vehicle insight strategist, and will be followed by three breakouts: best practices for using data in business decisions, evolution through telematics and leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for data analysis and protection.

Ride & Drive (March 5 – 6)

Attendees of Work Truck Week can experience commercial vehicles with the latest advanced technology and fuel, sustainability offerings and propulsion systems through the Ride & Drive event on March 5 & 6 from 11:00 – 3:30 pm. Featured vehicles incorporate advancements that promote reduction of fuel use, greenhouse gases or particulate matter. You can learn more regarding the participating vehicles for the Ride & Drive on the website. No Ride & Drive registration is necessary; participation is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis to all WTW25 attendees.

Now, if you’re looking to attend Work Truck Week, there are a couple of tips we have to help you maximize your presence:

  1. Plan ahead by researching the event agenda – You can find the Work Truck Week schedule on the website; scout particular sessions that you’d find appealing and make note of the day, time and location. Don’t forget to print out a floor plan of the event to help make traveling to and from each session easier.
  2. Identify key individuals to connect with – Look at the event’s social media channels, speakers or those representing brands that might be exhibiting and put together a list of connections you hope to make. Start facilitating a rapport online through LinkedIn and get a sense of what sessions they may be attending or set up an opportunity to schedule a meet & greet.
  3. Network & engage at every opportunity – View every session/event as a networking opportunity. Actively engage in education sessions, facilitate conversations in breakouts or receptions, and be prepared with your elevator pitch. If there are specific things you’re hoping to get out of these conversations, you’ll want to get those points across succinctly.
  4. Post event follow up – After you’ve made connections with professionals at an event, it’s crucial you follow up afterwards through LinkedIn or email to continue dialogue. I can’t tell you how many individuals I’ve continued to stay in contact with post-event that have provided valuable insights into the industry, trends or just in general business tips.
